Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Spring Hill Middle School would like to welcome our new families to the 2017-2018 school year! We are excited that your students will be receiving their education at the best middle school in the country! We would also like to welcome our new additions to this “AWESOME”, dedicated, and experienced Generals’ faculty and staff, which we affectionately call our “staffulty.” We are very proud of this team and the EXCELLENCE and HIGH EXPECTATIONS they all continue to achieve! As always, there are so many exciting and educational endeavors that take place each year here at Spring Hill Middle. This year we are excited to introduce our new program: “SHMS P2 Community Based Program.” Our school will be collaborating with Spring Hill city government, businesses, and manufacturers in problem/project based issues within our community. #SHillMSRising2040

Spring Hill Middle School will continue to strive to exceed state and national standards and achieve our goals with the “MCPS 7 Keys to College and Career Readiness.” It is our goal to be DIPLOMA certified school-wide by the end of the year. The demands and complexities of teaching our students continues to increase, and, as always, we need to work together to ensure that our children reach their full potential. We believe that all of us-- the school, parents, and the community--must work together in an extended family environment to ensure “SUCCESS” for “ALL” our students. We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to Serve our community with Honor and respect by Motivating everyone to become Successful members of our society. Our charge here at Spring Hill Middle School is to foster a culture and climate of EXCELLENCE and EXCITEMENT for learning. SHMS would like to personally thank each of you for what you continue to do for our school and community. We are so excited and look forward to leading our wonderful students of SHMS!

Sincerely,
Shanda P. Sparrow
Principal Spring Hill Middle School
